Course Overview:
The 2021 Basic Life Support (BLS) course is designed to equip healthcare providers and public safety professionals with the essential knowledge and skills to respond effectively to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adult, child, and infant patients. Aligned with the American Red Cross Focused Updates and Guidelines for 2020, BLS serves as the fundamental CPR/AED program often mandated for healthcare providers and public safety professionals.
This course encompasses a comprehensive approach, blending lecture-based learning with hands-on skills demonstration, practice, and real-world case-based emergency response scenarios. It emphasizes team-based response, fostering essential critical thinking, problem-solving, and team dynamic skills crucial for achieving improved patient outcomes.
Upon successful course completion, participants will receive an American Red Cross 2-year Basic Life Support digital certificate that provides convenient, anytime, anywhere access to their certificate and training history.
Certification:
Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a digital certificate for American Red Cross Basic Life Support, which is valid for two years.
Course Format:
- Course Type: Blended Course
- Online Portion: You are required to complete the online portion before attending the in-class portion.
- Online Platform: To access the online component, you'll need a PC or tablet with a high-speed internet connection.
- Online Portion Duration: Allow up to 3 hours and 30 minutes (duration may vary) to complete the online segment.
- In-Class Portion: The skill portion of the classroom session will take approximately 3 hours.
Certification Cards are issued same day.

The Opioid Overdose and Narcan Administration course is a free 30 to 45-minute session. Participants will learn to recognize signs of opioid overdose and how to administer Narcan Nasal Spray. Each attendee will receive a complimentary Narcan Kit, which includes 2 doses of Narcan Nasal Spray upon completion of the class.
